Water parks are fun. More so, in summers when people are troubled with the heat, and humidity – planning to spend a day in the cool waters of a water-themed park can be soothing, fun, and full of adventure. Both kids, and adults love to spend a day there. It can be a family day out or a fun date with the partner, a trip with friends or more. But one has to stay safe when they are enjoying in the park to beat the heat.
No matter if one is visiting a water park in Riyadh or in any other places – there are a few things that one should follow before they put on the swimsuit, and jump in the water.
Things to keep in Mind
Stay hydrated
Playing in water, in open means one will be in cool water but also under the sun the whole day. This can dehydrate one quite quickly. So, it is better to drink a lot of fluid (plain water mostly) from the night before so that one stays hydrated. It is better not to take any drink that has caffeine or artificial sugar. Fresh juice, coconut water or plain water can actually work. Drinking water before, and after visiting the park is a must so that one stays hydrated, and they can avoid UTI infection. Waters in the water park to be honest are not the cleanest, and one needs to prevent themselves from catching infection. Drinking plenty of water means it can flush out the infection.
Wear sunscreen
Since most of the water parks are in open, one has to stay under the sun, and so wearing a sunscreen is a must. One should use a waterproof sunscreen all over their body before they jump into the pool. If one is spending long hours in the park, then they need to reapply them every 2 hours to prevent tanning. One should also use a lip balm that has SPF so that their lips do not darken.
Take rest
When in a water park, one must keep taking breaks in-between. It is better not to exhaust yourself too much in the water, and take breaks so that one can sit in the shade, and sip on some water.
Wear a life vest
There are certain rides in the water park, where wearing a life vest is under instructions, and one must follow that. No matter, how good swimmer one is – they need to wear it so that they can avoid any sort of mishaps. Water rides have heights, and speed – so safety is important. One should also be careful when walking in a water park. The spaces beside the rides, and the pools are slippery, and so one has to be very cautious about it.
Carry Essentials
Going to a water park means one has to carry a few essentials. Sunscreen, towels, goggles, spare clothes (including innerwear), water sipper, and moisturisers are the most important things that one will need in a water park. Apart from that, taking a swimsuit, and a first aid box can also come handy. One can also carry some dry snacks if they wish to.
Rinse before and after
Taking a shower before, and after visiting a water park is important. This is because waters there have huge amount of chlorine, and this can make the skin darker, and dryer. It also lets chemicals into the skin, and one needs to wash them off.
Sometimes water parks, and amusement parks are joined together so that one can have fun at both at a single outing. One can go for Falcons Flight, and other rides along with the water rides.
